http://www.threemonkeysonline.com/blogs/shane_barry  The Monkey's Typewriter: Included by some as part of a group of young Irish writers chronicling life in a vastly changed Ireland, Sean O'Reilly's novels The Swing of Things and Watermark are set in contemporary Dublin. O'Reilly, though, as he tells Shane Barry in interview, is more interested in character than place. (via Cosmos)

IrishEyes: ON THE WAY back from the 2006 Net Visionaries Awards, I was struck by how the evening was more about brands than people. It's not a detraction, just a reality of running a glitz event when you need to accommodate the reach of the brands who pony up to pay for exposure. (via Cosmos)

http://www.mneylon.com/blog  Michele Neylon :: Pensieri: d love to wax lyrically about the entire evening, but I’m still recovering In any case it was nice to spend the evening with friends in the industry and to make some new ones. The list of winners is available on the Net Visionary site and you can see who the losers were as well. (via Cosmos)

Tom Raftery’s I.T. views: To the guests on the night though, it must have looked like some kind of bad movie when Twenty’s name was called out and I stood up to accept. “Ah no, quick before he makes an even bigger eejit of himself, someone tell Tom it was Twenty won, not Tom” (via Cosmos)

Twenty Major - still smoking in Dublin bars.: Many thanks to the people at the Irish Internet Association who awarded me with the Best Blogger award at last night's Net Visionary Awards. Thanks to everyone who voted for me in the public vote and thanks to the judges whose names, I promise you, I didn't know and was therefore unable to menace in their own homes to ensure they voted correctly.
