[The Volokh Conspiracy] Concealed carry reciprocity legislation being currently supported by the NRA and other pro-2A groups would, as I understand it, allow Vermont residents to carry anywhere in the US simply because Vermont doesn't require a permit. That strikes me as a bit much, and possibly counter-productive from a political standpoint as well.

[RedState] Question of the Day | Redstate: It still has second billing there, and the Washintgon Post is demonstrating its sense of priorities by hosting a live chat at 11:00 this morning -- with Dan Baltz, on the Foley scandal. In the national media, the Foley scandal has far too many stories employing far too many journalists already in the pipeline to be displaced by anything so trivial as a rogue state that is a known proliferator and arms supplier to Iran and Syria as well as a counterfeiter of U.S. currency setting off a nuclear weapon on the Korean peninsula.

[Kim Werker] Nameless Podcast Episode 1: Diversifying with Jenny Ryan | Kim Werker: I have been catching up on Freaks and Geeks over Netflix so I totally got excited when I read about this :) When Buffy first came out I was totally addicted and at then high school (and Dawson's Creek) happened I regret what inevitably happened to my imagination and creativity for a while... I keep meaning to watch the episodes I never saw and at some point that will happen...

[The DNA Files Podcast] Designing the Garden: Food in the Age of Biotechnology ...: To find out more about genetically altered food, visit our website at dnafiles.org where you can download a podcast of this program. This series, The DNA Files, was produced by SoundVision Productions with funding by the National Science Foundation, U.S. Department of Energy, National Institutes of Health, and the Alfred P.

[WBUR and NPR - On Point with Tom Ashbrook] Obama and the Liberal Moment | WBUR and NPR - On Point with Tom ...: I missed hearing this program live, but am now podcasting it, moments after reading Packer’s article in my NEW YORKER…all while responding on this site and replicatinig a copy on my computer printer. What a mind-bogging technological confluence is that?

[Comments for Mormon Stories Podcast Archive] Helen Whitney on Mormons Owning Their History and Doctrine ...: Rather, I’m offering advice because I like Mormons and I think I have a little bit of a different perspective as someone who was raised a 7th generation DNA Mormon, but who hasn’t had any involvement religiously with institution since my teenage years (20 years ago). So, I’m offering advice because I have the vanity to think my odd vantage can let me look at a problem from the outside ”” while having a feel for the inside that Noah Friedman and Helen Whitney can’t ”” in such a way as to allow me to propose alternate solutions that complete insiders also might not be able to see.

[Websnark] Websnark: The Podcast and the Examiner: on the nature of Webcomics ...: This is again the unfortunate result of conflating the act of review with the act of interpretation under the blanket term "criticism." What Shaenon, Joe, William or I think of PvP on a pure reader-response level is in fact irrelevant to PvP's overall significance to the medium of webcomics, except as a guidepost to the response other readers have to the work, which helps shape the course of our research and interpretation. And our assertions on the overall significance to the medium of webcomics are only as valid as the evidence we can cite to support them.

[The Growing Life | Alternative Productivity, Anti-Hacks for Living] The Income Snowball & Funding Your Freedom: A Four-Part Guide ...: I think the income snowball concept is exactly what I’ve been trying to figure out, it really helped to hear it articulated this way. Over the past year I keep coming up with business ideas, but they’re usually BIG ideas that are designed to equal the income of my current job (and it’s taken me about 7 years to get to this income level).

[RedState] I'm Jumping Ship | Redstate: "Over the past week many voters suggested that I consider filing as a Republican since I have indicated I will caucus with the GOP. I appreciate their support and reiterate that if elected I will be supporting the Republican choice for Speaker of the House..."

[DB's Medical Rants] In which the Happy Hospitalist drinks the Kool-Aid | DB's Medical ...: hospitalist overhead is low in proportion to $ productivity, so higher pay is economically justified. If a hospitalist and an outpatient internist or fp produce the same gross income, the hospitalist’s net will be greater as no expenses for office rent, equipment, reception staff, or medical assistants are incurred.

[Photoshop Insider Blog By Scott Kelby] Photoshop Insider Blog By Scott Kelby » Blog Archive » It's “Guest ...: As I mentioned above, this realisation took me a while to develop, and a lot of the earlier shots on my blog are more happy accidents than carefully considered images. But in recent years I have found that I will shoot images that I know won’t look great, confident in the fact that they will provide exactly the right raw material for something a lot more interesting.

[Pajamas Media] Pajamas Media » The Dangerous Good Old Boys of the GOP: Who in the Commonwealth has not been daily assaulted by annoying ROBO-CALLS? The Old Bulls haven't a clue that they are chasing .

[Moving at the Speed of Creativity] VoiceThread Vandalism and our need to encourage constructive media ...: Of course one of the most exciting and attractive things about the Internet today and the social web is the fact that what we do can be seen by others, so the experience of drawing on a private, non-web-based drawing on TuxPaint is likely very different than the experience of being able to comment and potentially vandalize a VoiceThread digital story created by someone else.

[The Spectator.co.uk Melanie Phillips Blog] The mother of all mistranslations | The Spectator: (To Oskar) Another consequence of said above is this: the assumption that Vilnai meant “a holocaust” is extremely improbable because it would be an empty and foolishly counterproductive threat.
