[Ventureblog.com] VentureBlog: I even had one company pitch me at the Web 2.0 Conference that if all went well they would be acquired by Odeo (don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Ev's and I certainly think that podcasting is exciting, but it strikes me as a tad premature to bet your company's future on being acquired by a pre-revenue company). These folks are unabashed about their intention to be acquired and they are developing their software and services with an eye towards compatibility with their would-be acquirers.

But if we take success as winning share from Sony's Playstation franchise, this isn't going to be quite as merry a Christmas as Microsoft probably had hoped.
[Blog.holtz.com] a shel of my former self: So why not produce press releases for the press, written in news style (inverted pyramid) so they can be adapted quickly to trade publications and other vehicles, then produce a consumer version for the company website (or even delivered via a corporate blog)? The press release version would be readily accessible for anyone who wanted to read it on the media site, addressing any concerns about transparency.
