[B2B Lead Generation Blog] In launching my book, I didn't want to rely on the same time-worn lead generation tactics as everyone else. A normal book launch involves sending press releases to the media and then hoping and praying that overworked and overwhelmed journalists (who doesn't know you exist already) will suddenly see you on the radar...I mean, come on.

Some related posts from Technorati and Google.

[Eccentricstar.typepad.com] Eccentric Star: A Public Diplomacy Weblog: US Public Diplomacy: There was the report, carried by The Associated Press, CNN, and The New York Times, among many other news outlets, that Iraq was seeking uniforms worn by U.S. and British troops (“identical down to the last detail”) so that atrocities carried out on Iraqis by Saddam’s Fedayeen could be blamed on the coalition. There was the claim that prisoners of war had been executed by their Iraqi captors, and there was the announced surrender of Iraq’s entire Fifty-first Division.

http://earlyindications.blogspot.com [Earlyindications.blogspot.com] Early Indications: Once again using NAICS definitions from 2002, of the top five service categories by revenues, retail and health care are highly localized, finance and insurance face cross-border regulatory issues, and information and professional/scientific/technical services, while valuable and often portable, face price-based competition from off shore. If trends in offshoring are any indication, it may be easier for the U.S. to import services (such as remote radiographic analysis, call centers, and computer programming) than it is to export such activities as investment banking, neurosurgery, or engineering education.

[Ideagrove.com] Media Orchard, by the Idea Grove: Louis IT services provider Savvis, racked up a $241,000 tab in one night at a New York strip club (roughly enough to get lap-danced to the moon and back.) Inexplicably, neither McCormick nor Savvis took care of the AmEx bill, so AmEx sued -- creating a humiliating public scandal. Savvis responded with a letter of apology that didn't actually include an apology, so Media Orchard did them a favor and rewrote it for them.

[Thomashawk.com] Thomas Hawk's Digital Connection: January 2006: Whether having lunch with Sean Alexander of Microsoft's Windows Digital Media Division at CES, or trading emails with Charlie Owen and Matt Goyer on the Media Center Team (as well as "awesome guys" GM of IT Strategy Bill Koefoed and GM and head of business development in IW Sam Kamel) or chatting with Robert Scoble at one of his many geek dinners, there is a receptiveness and willingness to embrace bloggers outside their company that you just really don't see from most big public technology companies. Jim had spent the earlier part of his day meeting with mainstream press and it was great that he was able to find the time in his schedule to meet with us over dinner as well.
