Fresh Podcasts > Online Social Networking & PodCasts - Last.fm
[blogs | NetSquared] So, it looks like you can add your own tracks as well so I think it would be interesting to build up a "social" library of speeches, interviews, radio shows, podcasts, etc on Last.fm that could then be tagged, grouped, and most importantly discovered by other people. The link at http://www.last.fm/labels indicates that you can add your own tracks...

[Media Metamorphosis] Podcast and Music: What's up with that?: While the record companies seemed to easily embrace radio as a way to allow their audience to sample music before buying, they can't seem to get their heads around doing the same thing with podcasts. That's preventing a lot of great podcasts from taking off. I'm not a legal expert on this, but I do understand that there is music that is "podsafe"
[The PodShow Press Room] Pod People : SF Bay Guardian: Roll Geek show (www.rockandrollgeek.com), which currently has 10,000 subscribers, Butler’s 15-year-old daughter, Martina, has her own show, Emo Girl Talk, and has recently obtained a corporate makeup sponsor, Nature’s Cure (a homeopathic acne treatment), probably making her the highest-paid minor podcaster in the city. Granted, she makes only what a teenager with a part-time job at Hot Topic would pull down, but she’s making that money with a biweekly podcast from her home, spinning punk records rather than folding Green Day hoodies.

[Boingboing.net] Boing Boing: A Directory of Wonderful Things: Good Night and Good Luck is the story of journalist Edward R Murrow's campaign to expose Senator Joseph McCarthy's Communist witch-hunts for a sham aimed at grabbing power by instilling fear of shadowy bogeymen into America's hearts. Murrow and his fellow campaigners are portrayed in great warts-and-all style, flawed people with a heartfelt disgust for the deeds of a wicked opportunist who is destroying everything they love about their country.
[Bikeshow.blogspot.com] The Bike Show: The noise of the bicycle chain, the pedal and gear mechanism, for example, the breathing of the cyclist, we have incorporated all this in the Kraftwerk sound, including injecting the natural sounds into the computers in the studio.” The crisp, clean sound that came to characterise the Kraftwerk sound in the digital era of the 1990s also has a resonance in the sound of the bicycle (or rather the lack of it): “When your bike functions best, you dont hear it - its silent, theres no cracking, just shhhh - youre gliding. Its the same when youre in good shape and your in form and youre riding your bike, you hear nothing - maybe just a little bit of breath.”
[Wholewheatradio.org] Whole Wheat Radio Blog, Talkeetna - Alaska: Technically, I've turned off the Apache directive Content-Disposition "Attachment" which is supposed to force a full download rather than a stream on most web-browsers but which most podcasting clients and aggregators rudely ignore. (I want to see what effect that has in increasing the undesirable 75% 'click to listen' ratio since it will align me even more, statistically, with the way most podcast servers operate.) I know that I do not want to penalize true subscribers nor make it more difficult for them to get the content they want.
[Podcasts.resonancefm.com] Resonance FM Podcasts » Blog Archive » Rhythm Incursions: Podcast #4: Advance notice: keep an eye on this feed in the second week of March, as we’ll be podcasting an amazing mix session from DJ Olive. Trust us, you don’t want to miss it.
[Herroflomjapan.com] Herro Flom Japan: When I see the list on my blog of where listeners are in the world, I feel like I should be .Radio Sakamoto - Ryuichi Sakamoto's podcast for J-WAVE FM.
